Case study / Window tinting company / California

City pages took a home-service shop from 5 leads a week to 40+ a day

A window tinting company losing local searches to smaller competitors. Dozens of city-specific pages, built at scale, put them on page one across California cities.

Why a roofer should read a window tinting case

Window tinting and roofing share the problem that matters here: a home-service business that can work across many towns, competing in each town against local shops that rank there. The way this company won city after city is the way a roofer wins the towns around its home base.

Before: 3 to 5 leads a week

A skilled window tinting company with the capacity to serve all of California was nearly invisible online. It generated 3 to 5 inbound leads a week and was losing ground to smaller, less qualified competitors who simply ranked better in their local searches, in cities like Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco.

What we did

  1. Local SEO audit. A full audit of the Google Business Profile, citation consistency across directories, and the backlink profiles of the top local competitors in each target city.
  2. A unique page for every target city. Unique, locally relevant landing pages for each city, built at scale (programmatic SEO), each targeting high-intent searches like "best window tinting in [City Name]" and "ceramic auto tint [City Name]". Not templates with the city name swapped.
  3. Citations and geo-targeted links. A manual citation campaign in the most authoritative business directories, plus link building from quality guest post sources to build the authority of each new city page and of the domain as a whole.
  4. Tracking and reporting. Monthly link building reports and rank reports, with call tracking to tie the growth in calls back to the SEO work.

The results

  • Weekly leads from about 5 to over 280 (40+ a day)
  • Page one across dozens of California cities
  • Business operation grew 900%

Reported at the end of the campaign (February to July 2025). Client details are kept private.

What it means for a roofer

If you serve ten towns, you need to show up in ten towns. A page for each one, written about that town, is how the organic results learn where you work. The Map Pack still favors roofers close to the searcher, so city pages are how you reach homeowners beyond your own neighborhood.

The warning is in the same story: the pages worked because each one was unique and backed by links and citations. Thin pages with a swapped town name do the opposite.
