Case study / Local roofing contractor / Florida

From 3 or 4 calls a week to a steady run of full replacements

A skilled Florida roofer with happy customers and almost no presence online: 3 to 4 phone inquiries a week, mostly small repairs. Six months on the Golden package put them at #1 in the Map Pack for their most profitable keywords.

The roofer and the market

A local roofing contractor in Florida with skilled crews and happy customers. Good work, good word of mouth, and almost no presence online. That is a hard place to be in a hyper-competitive local market, where larger competitors with more established online histories owned the local results.

The owner wanted fewer small repair calls and more full roof replacements, the jobs that keep crews busy and the business profitable.

Before: 3 to 4 calls a week, mostly small repairs

The phone rang 3 to 4 times a week, and most of those calls were small, low-profit repairs. The website had thin content and a weak backlink profile. The Google Business Profile was incomplete and had very few reviews, so homeowners searching for a roofer simply didn't see this company. When they did, there wasn't much to convince them.

What we did

  1. Hyperlocal keyword targeting. We targeted the service-specific searches that lead to real jobs in their area, phrases like "[City] roof replacement" and "emergency roof repair [Neighborhood]", instead of broad terms like "roofing".
  2. Google Business Profile rebuilt. The profile was rebuilt from the ground up: geo-tagged photos, detailed services and a robust Q&A section, so Google had every reason to show it in the Map Pack for local roofing searches.
  3. Citations built and cleaned up. We built and corrected their listings across the major home-service directories, including Yelp, Angi and Houzz, so the business details matched everywhere and Google saw a consistent, established local business.
  4. A review process for happy customers. We set up a simple process to ask satisfied customers for Google reviews. Fresh, genuine reviews are both what homeowners read and one of the signals behind Map Pack rankings.
  5. Local authority links. Links came from locally relevant places: home-service directories, local community blogs and regional business associations. They told Google this roofer was a real part of the local market.

The results

  • Qualified, high-value leads up 600%
  • #1 in the Google Map Pack for their most profitable keywords
  • Page one for 15+ local service keywords
  • Organic traffic from local homeowners up 400%
  • A steady pipeline of full roof replacement jobs

Reported at the end of the campaign (March to September 2025). Client details are kept private.

What it means for your roofing company

Nothing in this campaign was exotic. A page for each job that matters, a complete profile, consistent listings, real reviews and local links. The difference was doing all of it, properly, for six months.

Your market and starting point will be different, so your results will be too. Some markets move faster, some slower. What carries over is the order of work and the focus on the searches that bring replacements, not the ones that bring tire-kickers.
